A tribute to 'B' - Dr Brian Barr (1947-2011)

Posted by Grant Callaghan - 23 November 2011.

It’s not often in life when you get the privilege to befriend someone that inspires you with each encounter. Someone that can add true value to your being and at the same time, enhance your life experience in the process.

For me and in fact all of us at Accounting North, that privilege was evident with our good friend and client Dr Brian Barr who sadly passed away on 31 October 2011 after a short battle with cancer.

I had the opportunity to interact with Brian on professional, sporting and social levels and it was clear that Brian had a thirst for knowledge and was always seeking ways to make the most of his opportunities . An early adopter and innovator as best described by his best mate at his funeral.

Inspiration simply comes from reading Brian’s list of life’s achievements (to name but a few):

-    Raising a remarkable family
-    Building a  very successful medical practice
-    Winning world triathlon championships (across all distances)
-    Australian windsurfing titles

We express to Brian's family (Emi, Cooper, Nick, Tom, Sam and Kate) our condolences . We will certainly miss Brian and cherish the opportunity we had knowing him, he will always be in our thoughts.
