You may have noticed that the professional staff at Accounting North proudly claim to be a CA (Chartered Accountant) and we place the prestigious Institute of Chartered Accountants logo on our home page. This is a hard won qualification and you may wonder what the point of difference is to other accounting training.
For starters, all CA’s first complete a relevant university degree in Economics, Finance or Law. They then gain experience in a professional firm before they can start studying the CA program. This is an arduous two year post-graduate program, which young accountants complete out of work hours – though we do give them study leave for each subject, so they get a dose of compassion as they put in the extra hours!
After completing the study program and being accepted into the Institute, as a qualified CA you are then expected to keep up your technical training every year. There are ongoing conferences, webinars, study programs and networking events that we attend. This is a professional lifetime program that requires commitment and dedication to ongoing professional development. It’s a challenge to keep up with constant changes to company and taxation legislation and advancements in business and technology practices.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants is a global organisation and you can expect a comparable high level of professional ability from a CA – whether they are in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada or Hong Kong. It is the world’s most trusted accounting brand. Most of the big global accounting firms – the likes of Price Waterhouse Coopers, KPMG and Ernst and Young – all favour Chartered Accountants for their professional staff. Indeed, many of our staff here at Accounting North have previously worked for these large firms in Australia and overseas.
You can expect the best. Smart technical taxation and accounting advice, highly ethical approach, good communicators, professional conduct and dedication to completing work to a high standard with the finest thinking. We’re constantly investing in our training to provide you the best service and advice. We’re 100% committed to what we do.
Here at Accounting North all of our Partners, Associates and Managers are CA qualified. We are currently sponsoring four of our Accountants through the training program – ensuring that we all have a consistent level of knowledge and approach when managing your vital tax and accounting affairs.
So when considering who to use for your business, choose those who aim the highest. Chartered Accountants. Number 1 when it counts. For more information visit: www.charteredaccountants.com.au

Wed, 2011-11-23 20:49 — Philip Billson (not verified)Really good read, never knew how much was involved in becoming an chartered accountant. It took me a while before choosing the right Contractor Accountant for myself. Always nice to learn a bit more about what other professions involve. Thank you for a great article on Chartered Accountants
