As opposed to spending our advertising budget in the mass media, we prefer to direct our attention to local communities and recognise that money is better spent supporting those who support us.  It strengthens bonds and our staff love it!  Below is a list of a few community initiatives we have undertaken.   Maroochydore Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business Awards Sponsor. Clean Up Australia Day 2010

This quarter the Accounting North team decided to get their hands dirty for a great cause. Breaking off into three teams we covered Cotton Tree and the beach, Alex Headlands walking back to Cotton Tree and the mangroves at Petrie Creek, Didillibah. We had some interesting finds and were very pleased with the 15 large bags we filled.

Ecobiz

Accounting North is proud to have completed the Queensland Government's Ecobiz program.  Aimed at reducing consumption of water, energy and material resources, the program has raised awareness within our organisation as well as delivering real cost savings.  

This has resulted in changing our air-conditioning and lighting infrastructure, which in the long term will deliver real savings .  We are also committed to working in a paperless office, having invested in a digital working environment and document storage system which results in process efficiencies as well as resource savings. 

And then there are the small everyday actions such as encouraging staff to turn off screens and printers, recycle packaging and paper (we still use some!) and order office products from environmentally committed suppliers.   We believe that it all makes a difference, we have to 'walk the talk' and that environmental responsibility is just as relevant in an office space as the factory floor.
