Tax Accountant
An opportunity exists for a Tax Accountant to work in a leading financial planning business; providing tax advice and preparing income tax returns for an existing client base.
The position is part-time with flexible hours throughout the year, with the majority of the work between August and December (30 hours/week). The position would entail onsite presence during business hours, but depending on workload could be tailored to suit school hours. The remaining months of the year will require less hours (15 hours/week). There is an opportunity to normalise these hours with additional work at Accounting North assisting with our tax and compliance services. This is a very flexible role!
The Tax Accountant will work independently but will be provided with external support from Accounting North. The majority of work will be preparing individual tax returns with investment income; in addition some small business entity structures will require advice, financial statement and tax return preparation.
Candidates looking to apply should meet the following selection requirements:
- Uptodate knowledge of Australian tax law and compliance requirements
- Great people skills are a must
- Ability to work independently
- Previous work in a tax firm or home-based accounting business
- Competent computer skills and knowledge of accounting packages
- Bachelor of Business or Accounting Degree preferred
- Completion of an H&R Block course will be highly regarded.
